Celtic Turf Topsoil

When turfing, you need at least 150mm (6") of good quality topsoil. You may already have this in your garden in which case you don't need to add any more. However, in some cases it is necessary to add or replace topsoil to give your new lawn the best possible start. Our Screened Topsoil is blended from some of the finest soils in the county and is the perfect laying medium. Our top soil is now soil certified which is perfect for landscaping and flowerbeds.

If you have poor quality soil our screened topsoil should be used to ensure easy working and will also provide the perfect turf-growing medium. The end result should be a firm level surface free from any soft or hollow areas so that the newly laid turf can knit quickly into the prepared soil. To give your lawn the best possible start apply a suitable starter lawn feed and rake it in to the prepared area.
